No-load power consumption is a subcategory of standby power consumption. No-load power is the power used by a device when it is disconnected from the load and not performing any function. For example, a cell phone charger plugged into a wall outlet will consume power even though it is not connected to the phone. A linear charger can still consume 0.8 W to 2 W of power even when disconnected from the phone. The lower the no-load power, the better.
