How to design a good power adapter?
How to design a good power adapter must be a problem that many power engineers have been thinking about. Our company's R&D department has a saying called: "A good product is worth a hundred sales", indeed, in our power supply industry, it is indeed based on products and quality. So how to design a good power adapter? Here's a little bit of my own experience.
First: Determine your power supply power and input voltage. The switching current, transformer volume, and input voltage of the switching tube are selected by the power supply power to determine the withstand voltage of the switching tube and the number of transformer input turns.
Second: no matter what kind of voltage, power supply, the field tube must have a low-pass discharge and speed charging circuit.
Third: the transformer should have an absorption circuit to absorb harmonics.
Fourth: The internal resistance of the gate of the field tube should be pulled down with resistance ground.
Fifth: It is necessary to select the appropriate switching frequency to ensure that the static loss is minimal and the field tube conversion efficiency is the highest.
Sixth: When the input voltage exceeds 75V, the filter resonant circuit should be considered as a negative assist function circuit.
Seventh: When the power is too large, the filter PFC circuit access design should be considered.
Eighth: The driving signal should be stable! And there must be more than 5V.
Whether it is switching power supply, inverter power supply, high-frequency design has become the main technical means and mainstream! For many people who have not calculated the power supply or have not yet reached the project development ability of the power supply design, when they think of design, they will think of various calculation modes! This idea is correct, but the practice is wrong!
True power masters never calculate too much. Even if there are 1000 components, you won't count too much! But the power supply that comes out is super good. Why? Because algorithms need to be combined with experience and practice! Therefore, if you want to design a high-quality power adapter, the ultimate thing is to keep doing it and improving it.
