The module power supply is a power supply that can be directly mounted on the printed circuit board, and can supply power for application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), digital signal processor (DSP), microprocessor, memory, field programmable gate array (FPGA) and other digital or analog loads. Generally speaking, such modules are called load (POL) power supply system or point of use power supply system (pups). Due to the obvious advantages of modular structure, modular power supply is widely used in switching equipment, access equipment, mobile communication, microwave communication, optical transmission, router and other communication fields, automotive electronics, aerospace and so on.
The simple understanding is the standard modular power supply, which is mainly compact and convenient to use after modularization. Features of module power supply:
1. Small size, all functions are enclosed in a modular product;
2. Modular power supply is easy to replace, and some products can also provide redundant power supply;
3. The power supply of glue filling module also has the characteristics of moisture-proof, earthquake resistance and flame retardant;
The functions of module power supply are diverse, but most power supplies are designed with switching power supply, mainly to reduce volume and weight. Therefore, it is almost the same as ordinary power supply, but it will have more functions and higher power density. I have used modular power supply to design products. The volume is very small, but the cost is slightly higher. The following are pictures of several module power supplies.
