Some problems of power module selection

The emergence of power module, embedded engineers from the complex power design work out of the bitter sea. But there are many kinds of power modules, how should people consider the power selection in the usual circuit principle?


1、 "Protection" or "non protection"?


"Should some power supply circuits be protected?" This is the most difficult problem for every embedded system technical engineer.


From the point of view of protection, it can be divided into two categories: safety protection and noise protection. Because of the rich application of embedded system, in hardware design, it often encounters complicated situations such as multi working voltage power supply system, mixed digital and analog, high speed and low speed data signal with board, so as to solve the problem of slight carelessness, lead in dry deflection, and reduce commodity characteristics.


At this time, protection seems to be very important. 2、 "Feature" PK "cost"?


"Characteristics" and "cost" are two resentments who love each other. How many technical engineers are confronted with difficult choices and how many hard-working plans are made, because the cost cost problem has to be abandoned. Is it so that the characteristics don't care about the cost? Or is it cost cost martyrdom? How to balance the characteristics and cost is an eternal topic in the design of products.

Because of the different temperature levels, the raw materials and manufacturing process are different, and the cost of control module is quite different.


3、 What is the output power capacity left?


"Design capacity", a loving and hateful indicator value. The essence of capacity design scheme is to prevent accidents. Although it is not related to quality, the capacity design scheme is not enough, which will have the potential safety risks of product quality problems. The capacity design scheme is too large and will lead to the increase of cost.


Because of the rich application of embedded system, the load also has hierarchy, which are resistance loads, rational or tolerant loads, some of which are relatively stable, some of which fluctuate greatly, and some of them will be full load, full load, or instant load increase or load fall in a moment, This gives the necessary difficulty factor to confirm the output power level of the power supply module.
