Rectifiers:

The rectifier is a part of the power adapter that converts AC voltage to DC voltage. There are two types of rectifiers, a full-wave rectifier, and a half-wave rectifier.

The full-wave rectifier uses four diodes to convert the AC voltage to DC voltage. The four diodes are arranged in a bridge shape, and they allow the current to flow in only one direction. As a result, the AC voltage is converted to a smooth DC voltage.

The half-wave rectifier is a simpler version of the full-wave rectifier. It uses only two diodes to convert the AC voltage to DC voltage, which is less efficient.

Regulators:

The regulator is an essential part of the power adapter that ensures a stable DC output voltage. It maintains a steady voltage of the output voltage to a specific voltage level. The regulator also protects the electronic device as it prevents excessive voltage or current from flowing through the device.

There are two types of regulators, linear regulators, and switch-mode regulators. Linear regulators are the simplest type and are often used for low-power applications. Switch-mode regulators are more efficient and can supply larger amounts of power.
