Lead acid battery and lithium battery charger cannot be used in common!

This is because the lead-acid battery charger is generally set to two-stage or three-stage charging mode, and the voltage level of lithium battery and lead-acid battery does not match.

Moreover, there are many kinds of lithium batteries, and the battery performance and battery protection board parameters may be different.

Therefore, unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries do not have universal battery chargers. Generally speaking, the lithium battery is equipped with a special charger when leaving the factory. In order to protect the lithium battery, it is best to use the corresponding special charger for lithium battery.

What is the difference between lithium battery and lead-acid battery?

Lithium batteries have high requirements for chargers and need to protect circuits, so lithium battery chargers usually have high control precision and can charge lithium batteries at constant current and constant voltage.

The lithium battery charging control is to charge according to the constant current first, and then when the battery voltage rises to 4.2V, the voltage will not rise. The charger detects the current. If the current is less than a certain value, the charging will be ended.

Lead acid battery

Lead acid batteries are relatively solid and durable, and do not have high requirements for charging circuits. Occasionally, overcharge and discharge will not lead to battery damage, and the structure of the charger is relatively simple.

Lead acid batteries are usually three-stage charging, namely constant current, constant voltage and trickle. If the LED of the charger is red, it indicates that it is in the constant current or constant voltage stage, and if it changes to green, it indicates that it is in the trickle stage. Usually, after the green light is turned on, the battery can be fully charged for several hours.

Generally speaking, the lithium battery charger for lead-acid battery will be under charged, and the lead-acid battery charger for lithium battery will be over charged. Therefore, lithium batteries and lead-acid battery chargers for electric vehicles cannot be used in general

The following are the relevant matters needing attention when charging the lithium battery:

1. In order to prolong the service life of lithium battery, it is necessary to charge and discharge lithium battery frequently. To develop the habit of charging electric vehicles after 80% of the power consumption, you can't wait until the power is used up. In addition, lithium batteries should not be stored for a long time.

2. When charging the electric vehicle battery, the switch lock must be closed and the battery cannot be inverted. It shall be fully charged at one time instead of multiple times.

3. Electrical appliances should not be stored in the state of power loss, so the battery should be fully charged once a month when it is not in use.

4. The lithium battery needs to use a supporting charger when charging. Because the raw materials of the battery are different from the production process of the lithium battery, the technical requirements for the charger are also different. Therefore, only using a special charger for charging can make the life of the lithium battery longer and prevent potential safety hazards.

5. When the lithium battery is out of power, turn off the power supply and ride. Do not use the pick-up voltage to prevent serious power loss, so as to prolong the service life of the battery.

6. When charging the lithium battery of electric vehicle, float charging for 1 ~ 2 hours when the charging indicator shows full power. It is not suitable to stop charging immediately.
